CAPC’s New Director!
The Tulare County Child Abuse Prevention Council is pleased to welcome Ramona Chiapa as the new Executive Director for the organization! She started as director on June 6, 2016.
Ramona is a Central Valley native and is passionate about making a positive difference throughout the county. She received a Bachelors of Arts in Communication from the University of California Santa Barbara and a Masters degree in Communication Management from the University of Southern California. She brings with her nearly ten years of experience in marketing, public relations and non-profit management.
The non-profit sector has always had a special place in her heart as it is often non-profits that bring people together for a common cause and goal for the greater good of the communities they serve. As a child and spouse of educators Chiapa shared “I understand the importance of setting children up for long term success. Educating and providing awareness on the issue of child abuse is paramount to assisting in creating an environment that nurtures a child for the future.”
She is excited to continue the strong partnerships, relationships and events that the council has created and is honored to have the opportunity to learn from Billie Shawl before she begins a new adventure in retirement.
