Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) Training

December 7 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am

ACEs are traumatic events occurring before age 18 and include all types of abuse and neglect as well as parental mental illness, substance use, divorce, incarceration, and domestic violence. The more ACEs experienced, the greater the risk for negative outcomes. Research has shown that children with ACEs struggle more with learning and participating at school, with language development, communication, attendance, and excelling academically. When considering that childhood experiences influence individuals’ long-term health, information about ACEs provides professionals the opportunity to better understand, assess and support patients, and prevent future health concerns.
